Immigration Update
Please find below a press release from the Home Office department ‘Border and Immigration Agency’ (formally known as the ‘Immigration and Nationality Directorate’). The Press Release provides a link which details the new fees for various immigration visas. Those who wish to submit their applications in person should please take particular note of the ‘Premium Service’ fees

New immigration fees from 2 April 2007

2 April 2007
Following Parliamentary approval, the new immigration fees announced on the 7th March will now be introduced from Monday 2nd April 2007 for all those coming to the UK to work, stay or study.

The new fees will support the improvement of the UK immigration system for genuine applicants, making it quicker and easier to use whilst enabling us to take tough action against those who abuse it.

The fees have been set at a level that will ensure the UK remains competitive in a global market and is able to attract the migrants it needs. The Government consulted on the new charging regime last year, which along with extensive research has informed the new fee levels.

A document detailing the transitional measures, a Q&A document and a fees table have been produced to provide you with further information.

Please note that all applications submitted on or after 2nd April 2007 will need to be made on the new application forms and must enclose payment at the new fee level. In recognition that some applications may be submitted after this date on an old form and / or accompanied by an old fee transitional measures have been put in place.

The transitional measures have bee set out in the attached document.

Searching for Relatives

Do you know Mr Leo Cornelius Edward Arthur (D.O.B 23 February 1928 – SVG)? if you do can please ask him to contact the Mission as his daughter would like to get in contact with him.

We believe that Mr Arthur worked in Germany as a mechanic during the 50’s/60’s and later moved to another European country (perhaps Geneva) in the 60’s/70’s.
